UPDATE: We will discontinue using quotation marks to identify parts of an article, but retain the capitalization; eg, This is discussed in the Methods section (not the “Methods” section). This change was made February 14, 2013. Publishing online-only material permits inclusion of audio and video components. In addition, to conserve use of budgeted print pages and yet allow interested readers access to supplementary material (eg, additional tables, figures, or references, derivation of complex equations, appendixes, detailed description of methods, large amounts of relevant but detailed data), some journals may publish Web-only material to supplement the material that appears in print.
