The preferred order of the footnotes at the bottom of the first page of an article in JAMA and the Archives Journals is as follows (see also , Typography). Note: Not all articles will include all of these. ▪ Author affiliations ▪ Death of an author (death dagger [†]) (see , Footnotes to Title Page, Death) ▪ Information about members of a group (see , Acknowledgment Section, List of Participants in a Group Study) ▪ Corresponding author contact information Byline: John A. Doe, MD; Myrtle S. Coe, MD†; Simon T. Foe, RN; for the XYZ Group Footnotes: Author Affiliations: Department

AMA Manual of Style requires a subscription or purchase to access the full text of books within the service. Public users can however freely search the site and view the abstracts and keywords for each book and chapter.
