8.8.8 Ellipses in Tables

In tables, ellipses may be used, for example, to indicate that no data were available or that a specific category of data is not applicable. (See also 4.1.3, Visual Presentation of Data, Tables, Table Components.) An explanatory footnote should always be included if it is not absolutely clear from the context what the ellipses represent.
