Epigraphs, short quotations set at the beginning of an article, are rarely used in research papers. On occasion, an author will include an epigraph to suggest the theme of the article. In the JAMA Network journals, epigraphs are set in italics, with the signature set in boldface type underneath the quotation. If the work cited appears in the reference list, a superscript reference number should follow the epigraph to indicate the source. Otherwise, the title of the work should be provided....View:
